About

Harumi brings a wealth of experience in Japanese culture and education. She has taught at schools, a university and in the community in Australia. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills with people from different cultures. In Japan, Harumi worked as an art and culture journalist for a major newspaper, deepening her appreciation of Japanese culture and her understanding of Japanese society. Her naturally inquisitive mind has led her to explore many disciplines—from Aikido, the Japanese martial art, in both Tokyo and Sydney, to her earlier studies in economics and her work at a leading Japanese think tank.

Now based in the Blue Mountains, Harumi is inspired by sustainable living and finds joy in growing her own vegetables and flowers. The flower used in the photos were from her garden.
